Oh well!Aaron Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17775589009145031773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-65598834830793783022009-03-30T12:54:00.000-05:002009-03-30T12:54:00.000-05:00Oh, the Western Rite! No wonder this didn't register. ;-)

Actually, I happen to find this interesting as well, but precisely in connection to the timing of 'midlent.' It was always my understanding that, in the Roman Rite, Laetare Sunday (like Gaudete Sunday in Advent) was placed not at the mid-point of the season, but rather on the second-to-last Sunday of the season, and therefore always past its mid-point. This is the first I've ever heard of a 'Dominica media Quadragesimae'; I wonder, then, if it is an English thing.Esteban Vázquezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09738869673774603152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-58172744311016698512009-03-30T01:44:00.000-05:002009-03-30T01:44:00.000-05:00Thank you, Esteban! I happen to find it interesting, whatever the timing of 'midlent' may be.Aaron Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17775589009145031773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-65010680056159823662009-03-29T21:52:00.000-05:002009-03-29T21:52:00.000-05:00And here I thought that 'Midlent Sunday' was last ...And here I thought that 'Midlent Sunday' was last Sunday, and that Lent ends two Fridays from today! ;-)Esteban Vázquezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09738869673774603152noreply@blogger.com
