Deacon Aaron,
Christ is Risen!
I'm Hi...Dear Fr. Deacon Aaron,
Christ is Risen!
I'm Hieromonk Silouan Justiniano, from the Monastery of St. Dionysios the Areopagite (ROCOR) in Long Island, NY.
https://www.saintdionysiosmonastery.org/
I bumped into your very interesting article on Coleridge's 'Imagination' and Orthodox Patristic 'Phantasia'.
In it you mention that you were working on a thesis on the topic. Have you completed the thesis?
If so, would you be willing to share a PDF copy with me? I would love to read it.
The imagination, as it relates to the creative act and the Fathers, is also one of my topics of research interest.
Hope to hear from you soon.

In Christ,
Fr. The selfsame day I received a box from the lecturer I mentioned above, who had obviously seen this post, containing copies of everything he had on the subject for my borrowing pleasure. Also, before I discovered it tucked into one of the items in the box, I successfully petitioned my friend, Michael Millburn, to send me a copy of his article on the influence of Coleridge on Tolkien wherein he briefly responds to the claim that I have made that Tolkien is disputing Coleridge's distinction (it seems I'm not the first to make this claim!). Anyway, a third post is clearly going to be necessary, but it may be quite some time before I'll be able to process all the material sufficiently to come up with anything.Aaron Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17775589009145031773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-83180700918204397932012-03-21T20:30:29.662-05:002012-03-21T20:30:29.662-05:00It will. Well, I can't promise a daily, chapter-by-chapter commentary, and I can't promise that I'd be able to do much at all with it before the end of the school semester, but I'd certainly be willing to make an effort if a copy were to show up in my mailbox...Aaron Taylorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17775589009145031773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-39251434782643883602012-03-20T22:55:41.991-05:002012-03-20T22:55:41.991-05:00I'll buy you one if you'll give us a Logis...I'll buy you one if you'll give us a Logismoi-style series of postings on the book.Wurmbrandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17345523517796356674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6714437334790446678.post-65329235692795969252012-03-19T20:21:28.776-05:002012-03-19T20:21:28.776-05:00Steve> You mean you thought Orthodox writers we...Steve> You mean you thought Orthodox writers were incorrectly identifying 'imagination' as described by ascetic writers with 'imagination' as it is used in the modern English-speaking world?

Dale> I'm afraid I have not yet read that.
